PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an overrunning clutch remarkably by specifying a ratio of the axial length of a roller to the outer diameter thereof. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a clutch outer 1 is transmitted to a clutch inner 3 via a roller 6 and the transmission of rotation from the clutch inner 3 to the clutch outer 1 is prevented at the time of overrun. In this case, a ratio of the axial length of the roller 6 to the outer diameter thereof is taken at about 1.5-2.25 and the titled clutch is made to have durability over 40,000 times of operation without any problem in a normal service condition.
