PURPOSE:To facilitate plantation and improve also root taking by readily and rapidly digging up a tree in a state of sufficiently held roots and residual soil in the base of the tree and simultaneously supporting the tree in an erected state. CONSTITUTION:Left and right digging and supporting plates 14 and 14 equipped with a rotary cutter 13 at the inner end are inwardly rotated with hydraulic cylinders 10 while lowering a digger and conveyor 2 connected to a main guide machine 1 therewith and then lowered until a nearly horizontal closed state is provided. Thereby, the left and right directions of the base (a) of the tree, downward grounds and roots (b, c), spread in the same directions are cut and the base (a) of the tree is simultaneously supported in an erected state on the digging and supporting plates 14 and 14. In the process, if the digging and supporting plates 14 and 14 are rotated also in the vertical directions with a prescribed amplitude by hydraulic cylinders 17, the digging of the digging and supporting plates 14 and 14 into soil is facilitated to further reduce vibration by reaction force. As a result, tilting of the tree 3 and falling off of earth and sand from the base (a) are also suppressed.
