PURPOSE:To efficiently transplant a tree by connecting a mobile main frame to a drilling and carrying machine, successively cutting the ground and the roots of the tree in the lateral and lower portions of the roots with rotary cutters having a specific structure, carrying the root-cut tree to a hole for the transplantation, falling the tree in the hole and subsequently planting the tree. CONSTITUTION:A mobile main frame 1 is connected to a drilling and carrying machine 2 in a vertically movable state. A pair of side frame boards 7 disposed at the lateral, lower portions of the carrying machine 2 are held at desired angles based on the ground, and a pair of rotary cutters 13 disposed on drilling and carrying plates 14 are rotation-driven to cut the ground in the lateral directions of the tree root portion in a slope state in prescribed width and depth. While the rotary cutters 13 are rotation-driven, the drilling and carrying plates 14 are slided horizontally in the inward directions, respectively, to form a closed state, thereby cutting the ground and roots below the root portion of the tree. The tree is dug from the root portion, held with the carrying machine, carried to a transplantation hole, fallen and subsequently planted.
