PURPOSE: To obtain a cell cycle gene composed of a fission yeast-derived gene capable of controlling transition of an eucaryote from the nymphochrysalis of cell cycle to the DNA synthesis stage, having a specified base sequence and useful for development of a next-generation artificial organism or clarification of canceration mechanism of cell. ;CONSTITUTION: This cell cycle gene is a fission yeast-derived gene capable of controlling transition of an eucaryote from the nymphochrysalis of cell cycle to the DNA synthesis stage and having the base sequence of the formula. In addition, the cell cycle inhibitory factor having the amino acid sequence of the formula is obtained by manifesting the cell cycle gene. The cell cycle gene can be obtained, e.g. by introducing a cDNA library of a fission yeast inserted into a atoning vector into a pat 1-114 mutant of a fission yeast S.-pombe, carrying out selection by using a nutrient marker, subsequently selecting a transformed yeast strain capable of growing even at high temperatures (32°C) and recovering cDNA clone therefrom.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
