PURPOSE: To execute electrolytic treatment of one surface of a band-shaped metallic sheet while preventing infiltrating of a current by forming a hardly conductive coating film on one surface of this band-shaped metallic sheet, then passing the metallic sheet through an electrolytic treating vessel. ;CONSTITUTION: The hardly conductive coating film is previously formed on one surface of the band-shaped metallic sheet consisting of Al or Al alloy, etc. This band-shaped metallic sheet is passed through the electrolytic treating vessel, by which the other surface of the band-shaped metallic sheet is subjected to the electrolytic treatment. A planographic printing plate base is produced by anodizing its surface. The hardly conductive coating film contains all kinds of materials as a coating compound having an electrical insulating characteristic. Further, the hardly conductive coating film insludes the coating compound consisting of the metal oxide obtd. by hydrolys and polycondensation by applying an organic metal compd. or an inorganic metal compd. As a result, the infiltrating of the current to the rear side is prevented and the quality of the planographic printing plate base is improved without increasing the thickness of the electrolytically formed films in the transverse edge parts.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
