CLATHRATE COMPOUND, PRODUCTION OF TEETH-CRUSHABLE OR FOAMINGTABLET, AND GRANULE AND TEETH-CRUSHABLE OR FOAMING TABLET

Medicament (A) contains thioctic acid or dihydroliponic acid (II) in the form of an inclusion cpd. with a cyclodextrin or deriv.. Medicament (B) contg. (I) or salt and formulated as a granulate, chewable or effervescent tablet or suppository is also claimed. (I) and (II) can be present as the racemate or as the (R)- or (S)-enantiomer. Inclusion cpds. formed with the (R)- and (S)-enantiomers of (I) and (II) are claimed. Pref. medicament (B) as a granulate or tablet contains, in addition to (I) and opt. conventional flavourings, sweeteners and aromas, 0.001-1 pt.wt. binder and 0.001-0.1 pt.wt. flow aid and, in the case of effervescent tablets, 0.05-30 pts.wt. effervescent mixt.; pts.wt. being based on (I). In these granulates and tablets as well as in suppositories (I) can be embedded in a fat, polymer and/or swelling agent. Further, granules may be provided with a coating. beta -cyclodextrin is esp. suitable. When a cyclodextrin deriv. is used, this may conveniently be a methyl, ethyl, carboxymethyl, hydroxyalkyl, dialkylaminoethyl, sulphoalkyl, partially methylated carboxyalkyl, dimerised or branched-chain cyclodextrin.
