PURPOSE: To efficiently form a magnetic powder compact without any crack at the time of wet-compacting magnetic powder by using the filter cloth consisting of a felt with the thickness and cushion rate specified. ;CONSTITUTION: A slurry contg. magnetic powder is forced under pressure from an inlet 5 into a cavity 4 formed by the lower surface of an upper punch 1, the upper surface of a lower punch 2 and the inner wall surface of a die 3. A magnetic field is impressed by a magnetic-field coil 7 from outside, the upper punch 1 is lowered to reduce the content volume of the cavity 4, and the slurry is discharged from a waste water hole 8 to form the compact of necessary shape. At this time, filter cloth 6 consisting of a felt with the thickness controlled to 0.35-0.65mm when a pressure at 100kg/cm2 is applied and having 30-45% cushion rate is arranged between the upper punch 1 and slurry.
