TATAMI MAT FOR FLOOR HEATING BY WARM AIR

PURPOSE: To provide tatami mats through which warm air warms an indoor room wholly and quickly since the mat is excellent for air-permeability and can pass the warm air from under a floor, and of which the strength and peculiar stiffness are kept even though draft holes are formed in a tatami mat base for maintaining of the air-permeability. ;CONSTITUTION: A number of tube-shaped draft posts 5, of which the base parts each act as inlets 6 of air for heating and each of which has an outlet 7 at the top part thereof, are driven from on the underside of a tatami mat base 1, on which side the draft posts are scattered so as to be equally arranged. Since air-permeability is given to the tatami mat in this way, the strength and stiffness thereof are kept, which fact differs from the formation of draft holes by cutting. Furthermore, since the outlets 7 are opened in a permeable skin part 2 on the tatami mat 1, which part 2 is under a tatami facing 3, the surface part 2 is warmed by warm air from the outlets 7 and an indoor room is directly warmed by the discharge of the warm air.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
