PURPOSE:To provide aiding system and method for preventive plant maintenance activity capable of performing more proper preventive maintenance activity by aiding analysis and evaluation work concerning the preventive maintenance by plant design engineers and users such as operators and maintainers. CONSTITUTION:Provided are an information processing means 2 which performs the process of changing or adding the constitution and function conditions of safety protection logic in accordance with the request by a user (u) by using structural element data base 4 on the basis of information and the like concerning the structural part of a plant, the structural data base 4 storing the information and the like concerning the behavior during failures particular to each structural part, and the constitution and the like of the structural part input by the user (u), a plant structure data base 3 storing the information concerning the plant structure model, and an information input-output means 1 for outputting to the user (u) the information concerning the plant structural model and the failure made with the information processing means 2.
