摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain industrially advantageously the titled stable composition having a clear, bright, blue color tone, by treating a material containing a blue dyestuff of gardenia with a specific water miscible organic solvent, collecting a solid component layer from the treated system and removing selectively a yellow dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:A material containing a blue dyestuff of gardenia selected from a group consisting of a gardenia extract treated with an enzyme, a gardenia extract cultivated with a microorganism and a reaction product of a gardenia extract and a primary amino group-containing substance is treated with a water miscible organic solvent (preferably ethanol or acetone). In the operation, the treatment is carried out under a condition where the water content of the solvent treatment system is =60wt%, preferably 5-60wt% shown as the water content of the solvent and a solid component layer is collected from the treated system to give the aimed composition.
