PURPOSE: To obtain a flocculation solution raw material not depositing insoluble residues on the dissolution of the silica flocculation solution raw material and not affecting a liquid phase system by charging a silica flocculation raw material slurry into a diluted sulfuric acid in a dissolution equilibrium amount capable of dissolving the raw material slurry in the diluted sulfuric acid. ;CONSTITUTION: A specific amount of a silica flocculation solution raw material having a specific calcium base degree is charged into a cater-filled slurry production tank and subsequently dispersed with stirring to produce a raw material slurry. Furthermore, sulfuric acid is poured into a dissolution tank filled with a constant volume of water to produce a diluted sulfuric acid having a specific concentration. The produced raw maternal slurry in a dissolution equilibrium amount enabling the dissolution of the raw material slurry in the diluted sulfuric acid is charged into the dissolution tank to dissolve the silica flocculation raw material. In the method for dissolving the flocculation solution raw material, one or more magnets are preferably added to the solution in the tank used for producing the raw material slurry for magnetically separating iron components contained in the silica flocculation solution raw material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
