METHOD FOR QUICKLY DETECTING ABNORMALITY IN MULTIPROCESSOR AND MULTIPROCESSOR SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide a multiprocessor system capable of quickly detecting a fault in a processor without increasing the load of a common bus even when the number of processors in the system is increased. ;CONSTITUTION: In the multiprocessor system for connecting plural processors 1-1 to 1-3 through the common bus 2 and executing distributed processing, each of the processors 1-1 to 1-3 is provided with a function for broadcasting a normal operation signal expressing its own normal state to other processors at a prescribe period previously allocated to each processor and a function for monitoring whether other processors broadcast their normal operation signals at the prescribed period or not. Thereby even when the number of processors is increased, faults in respective processors can be quickly detected while suppressing the load of the common bus 2 to a low level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
