PURPOSE: To obtain bulky coated paper having rigidity, improved printing workability an excellent surface properties, suitable for uses having profoundness and the highest quality by printing. ;CONSTITUTION: Paper is coated with a coating composition comprising a pigment and an adhesive, dried, through rolls of a lustering device and subjected to surface treatment by contact under pressure to give bulky coated paper. The coated paper contains 10-25g/m2 coated layer per one face on both the faces thereof. The coating film composition constituting the coated layer contains ≥70wt.% of kaolin on the absolute dry whole pigment, both faces of the coated paper have 40-88% of 75 degree of specular gloss defined by JIS P-8142 and weight A (g/m2) of the coated layer defined by JIS-P-8124 and density B (g/cm3) defined by JIS P-8118 satisfy the following formula (1). {(A-38) ×0.7+45.3}/A≤B≤{(A-38) ×1.1+57.0}/A...
