RECOVERING METHOD OF SULFUR DIOXIDE IN FLUE GAS

PURPOSE: To recover sulfur dioxide in flue gas at a lower cost than a conventional method without producing industrial waste. ;CONSTITUTION: Sulfur dioxide in flue gas is absorbed in a lime slurry and the slurry is oxidized to produce gypsum to be recovered. On the other hand, sulfate ion remaining after the recovery is neutralized with a lime slurry, and a solid component in the slurry after neutralization is reused and retreated as a part of the lime slurry to be used to absorb sulfur oxide. Thereby, the gypsum is recovered not as an industrial waste but as a material which can be used for another purpose.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
