BRAZING METHOD USING ACTIVE METALLIC BRAZING FILLER METAL AND ACTIVE METALLIC BRAZING FILLER METAL

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of defects caused by oxidation of the surface of the brazing filler metal in executing the brazing in the vacuum furnace by using the brazing filler metal where the protective layer is provided on the surface of the active metal likely to be reacted with the gas content. ;CONSTITUTION: A protective layer 14 such as copper is formed to the thickness of several μm by the plating or the like on the surface of the active metallic brazing filler metal 13 where Ti is diffused in Ag-Cu eutectic brazing filler metal or the like. The active metallic brazing filler metal 13 having the protective layer 14 is held between the material 11 to be joined and the joining material 12, and placed in the vacuum furnace with the degree of vacuum around 1-10^-2 Pa, and the material 11 to be jointed, the joining material 12 and the active metallic brazing filler metal 13 are heated therein to execute the brazing. Because the surface of the active metallic brazing filler metal 13 is covered by the protective layer 14, oxidation is difficult to be generated by the gas content fom the insulating material, etc. The protective layer 14 does not adversely affect the brazing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
