DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DIRECTLY CONNECTING LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPH AND MASS SPECTROMETER, MASS SPECTROMETRY FOLLOWING LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY, AND LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPH-CONNECTED TYPE MASS SPECTROSCOPE
PURPOSE: To perform a highly sensitive measurement by mixing and stabilizing mist of the flowing-out liquid from a liquid chromatograph, and stabilizing the ion-molecule reaction of a sample and solvent. ;CONSTITUTION: A sample is separated and eluted for every component with an analyzing column 4. The sample is sent into an atomizer 6. The sample is heated and sprayed into an atomizing space 7 under the atmospheric pressure. The atomized flow is diffused through the space 7 and enters a vaporizing space 9 in a vaporizer 8. In the space 9, the flow of the mist doe not become the laminar flow owing to a spiral inserted rod 82. The mist is heated in contact with the heated wall surface constantly. Since the mist is constantly agitated and mixed, the uniform, more finer mist can be formed. The mist, which has passed through the vaporizer 8, enters an atmospheric ion-source part 11. The sample molecules are ionized by corona discharge. The ion undergos the removal of solvent in an intermediate pressure part 15. Mass scattering is performed in a mass spectrometry part 18, and the detection is performed with a detecting part 19.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
