PURPOSE: To make the opening diameter of an orifice alterable in order to prevent the clogging of an ink jet nozzle, facilitate the maintenance, prevent the unnecessary dripping of ink, stably obtain the optimum recording dot diameter and facilitate a process selectively forming an intermediate film on a phosphor layer in the formation of the panel inner surface of a cathode ray tube. ;CONSTITUTION: In an ink jet printer emitting ink Ia from an orifice corresponding to an image signal to form an image on a material to be recorded, at least a part of an orifice forming member is formed from a composite member 21 wherein a hard material 19b and a piezoelectric element 20 are integrated.
