PURPOSE: To obviate the generation of non-display parts in junctures and to increase a density by combining plural pieces of small-sized substrates from which unnecessary parts are cut away and connecting the row direction wirings and column direction wirings of the adjacent small-sized substrates to each other. ;CONSTITUTION: The column direction wirings 6, interlayer insulating layers 20, the row direction wirings 7 and element parts are formed on the small-sized substrate 1. Edge parts a which are the unnecessary part of the small-sized substrate 1 are then removed by cutting, grinding and cracking along the row direction wirings and column direction wirings. The small-sized substrate produced in the same manner as for the small-sized substrate 1 is placed on a rear plate and further, the ends of the row direction wirings and column direction wirings formed on the small-sized substrate 1 and the ends of the row direction wirings 7 and column direction wirings 6 of the adjacent small-sized substrate are butted against and aligned to each other and thereafter, these substrates are fixed by an adhesive. Further, the junctures are formed at the ends of the row direction wirings 7 and column direction wirings 6 adjacent to each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
