PURPOSE: To provide a reservoir for discharging active principles in an aqueous medium linearly in time over a prolonged period. CONSTITUTION: The reservoir is made of a nonwoven fabric of thermoplastic polymer filament and is prepared as a bag-like form the containing a water-soluble active principle. For a given active principle, desired diffusion kinetics are obtained through adjustment, depending on the availability of the active principle, the surface area and the degree of hydrophilicity of the nonwoven fabric. To this end, it is impregnated either with polysiloxane or a quaternary ammonium salt or with a perfluorinated compound or an acrylic resin and paraffin.
