PURPOSE: To provide a method for improving a snowmelt characteristic by a transmission current in an aerial transmission line and a method of manufacturing a snow melting high heat generation magnetic wire rod used for this improving method. ;CONSTITUTION: In a method for improving a snowmelt characteristic of a transmission line, it is characterized by mounting a high heat generation magnetic wire rod, with conductivity obtained less than 14% by applying an aluminum coating layer 2 to a steel wire or iron system alloy wire 1, in the transmission line, and in a method of manufacturing the snow melting high heat generation magnetic wire rod, after the aluminum coating layer 2 is applied onto the steel wire or iron system alloy wire 1, rework is performed until the conductivity is obtained less than 14%. Since the snow melting high heat generation magnetic wire rod, mounted in the transmission line to obtain less than 14% conductivity, is heated to a high temperature even in the case of a lower current as compared with the conventional product, the snow laid on the transmission line can be efficiently melted and removed. By the method of manufacturing the snow melting high heat generation magnetic wire rod, a high heat generation magnetic wire rod of good surface characteristic can be easily manufactured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
