SURGE TANK IN METHANOL AUTOMOBILE AND THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To improve conbustion efficiency by vertically laminating a plurality of metal thin plates, arranging evaporation accelerating members for fuel which determine passage for air-fuel mixture therebetween inside a tank main body, and thereby cooling charged air while utilizing evaporation latent heat of fuel. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of evaporation accelerating members 3, 4 are arranged in a tank 1, on the sides of an inlet 1a and an outlet 1b, for instance. A mixing chamber 10 and a plurality of evaporation accelerating chambers 11, 12 are respectively determined therebetween. A plurality of metal thin plates 5a, 5b are respectively laminated on upper and lower sides of the evaporation accelerating members 3, 4, while a passage 2 is formed therebetween. Charged air flowed into the tank main body 1 is mixed with methanole or the like injected from a nozzle 9. The methanole passes the evaporation accelerating members 3, 4 heated by the charged air for evaporation. The charged air is cooled by evaporation latent heat. The charged air is thus sufficiently cooled for increasing air density in air-fuel mixture.
