BINDING TOOL WITH HOLDING/RELEASING MECHANISM IN WHICH STEELSTRIP IS INSERTED, AND WHICH HOLDS AND RELEASES STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE: To make overlapped ends of steel straps admit into a strapping tool for strapping in tension in the loop form around a package, retain the overlapped ends therein, apply tension, process interlocking joints by punching and then efficiently operate a retaining and releasing mechanism for releasing the ends by one hand. CONSTITUTION: A strapping tool 10 is provided with a retaining and releasing mechanism in which the overlapped ends of steel straps 12 are made to admit into the strapping tool, and tension is applied by a tension applying mechanism 50 and an operation handle 40 is operated for punching to process interlocking joints on the ends and then the ends are released. In the retaining and releasing mechanism, a leaf 80 is squeezed by one hand in the arrow mark direction as shown in a figure to release the ends, and when the manual squeezing is released, the mechanism is restored to the direction of retaining automatically by the energizing force of a spring.
