PURPOSE:To promote absorption of ammonia and improve efficiency of an absorption device by a method wherein a surfactant containing an amine-based hydrocarbon as an absorption promoting agent for anmonia during an absorption cycle with anmonia system being applied as main working medium. CONSTITUTION:During a single effect type absorption cycle with an anmonia water system being applied as working medium, absorption solution is dispersed onto a heat transfer pipe of an absorbing device 10 through a dispersion disc 11, thereby anmonia vapor generated at an evaporator 12 is absorbed, its absorbed heat is discharged into cooling water. The absorbed solution becomes solution having high concentration of anmonia (high solution) 22 and it is fed into a regenerator 17 through a condenser 15 and a solution heat exchanger 16. The solution having increased concentration of anmonia is fed into an evaporator 12 through a condenser 14 and an over-cooling device 13, In this case, a surfactant containing an amine-based hydrocarbon preferably at least one member selected from heptylamine, octylamine and nonylamine is used as an absorption promoting agent for anmonia.
