METHOD FOR INVESTIGATING VIEWER RATING OF CATV SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To obtain the viewer rate investigating method which reduces the load on a center side and shortens investigation intervals without requiring polling from the center side to plural home terminals in the CATV system. ;CONSTITUTION: A center data gathering device 4 sends a data storage instruction 15 to all the home terminals 6-1-6-n at a time at every viewer rating investigation time. The home terminals 6-1-6-n once receiving the data storage instruction 15 store currently tuned channel numbers. For data gathering, the center data gathering device 4 sends a data gathering instruction 16 at a time as well and the home terminals 6-1-6-n calculate transmission timing from transmission intervals and transmission order included in the data gathering instruction 16 and send stored channel viewing data 17-1-17-n to the center data gathering device 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
