PURPOSE: To provide an in-soil embedding material intended to hold root soil etc., through shrinkage by water sprinkling, consisting of a nonwoven fabric comprising naturally degradable fibers and wet-shrinkable PVA-based fibers at a specified weight ratio and having each a specific wet shrinkage ratio and in-soil natural degradation period. ;CONSTITUTION: This in-soil embedding material such as a root-wrapping material consists of a nonwoven fabric having the following characteristics: (1) comprising naturally degradable fibers and wet-shrinkable PVA-based fibers at the weight ratio of (50:50) to (95: 5), (2) wet shrinkage rates in both longitudinal and lateral directions are 10-70%, respectively, with the shrinkage ratio in the longitudinal and lateral directions being 0.5-1.0. and (3) degrading naturally within one year after embedded in soil. With this material, root-wrapping work can be conducted easily, never decaying plants even if being left to stand in a root-wrapped state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
