PURPOSE: To provide a method for adaptively turning on or off decision directed algorithm(DDA) by the convergence state of data by further reducing the number of decision areas for dividing an I-Q plane where symbol data are arrayed, further accelerating a convergence speed and further suppressing the rate of symbol errors in a blind equalization system used on the reception side of digital communication. ;CONSTITUTION: The respective quadri sected planes of the I-Q plane are divided into the two decision areas and the code of error estimation data e'n is calculated for the respective areas. When the decision error en of the received symbol data Yn is calculated, matching of the code en of the decision error and the code of the error estimation data e'n is judged.
