LOW PRESSURE MERCURY VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP, AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE LAMP, AND MERCURY SEALING METHOD FOR THE DISCHARGE LAMP

PURPOSE: To obtain a low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp which can deliver the mercury fed through a slender tube, into a bulb securely; a display device using such a discharge lamp; and a mercury sealing method of the low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp. ;CONSTITUTION: In a low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp in which a slender tube 7 is connected to a bulb 1, and the mercury is fed into the bulb 1 through the slender tube 7, the inner diameter of the slender tube 7 is made a little smaller than the diameter of the mercury perticle 9, and after the mercury is fed to the slender tube 7, a gas is blown in through the slender tube 7 to the bulb 1, so as to deliver the mercury into the bulb 1 by the gas pressure. Since the inner diameter of the slender tube 7 is made smaller than the particle diameter of the mercury, the mercury may block the slender tube 7 when the mercury fed into the bulb 1 from the slender tube 7 attaches to the front end of the slender tube 7. But the mercury is pushed in the bulb 1 securely by receiving the pressure of the gas blown in from the rear side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
