ELASTOMER COMPOSITION OF INCREASED RESISTANCE TO OZONE AGEING

The composition is used in the manufacture of rubber products operating at dynamic conditions, especially of pneumatic tyres and brake hoses. Tested in ozone chamber and under dynamic loading, products remain 788 h without any appearance of cracks. The formulation of the elastomer composition is based on diene rubbers, respective fillers and stabilizers and contains stabilization combination of N-phenyl-N'-isopropylparaphenyl diamine in quantities from 1 to 3 wt.pts per 100 wt.pts. rubber and wax with the following composition, in %: normal paraffins from 30 to 45, isoparaffins from 35 to 50, monocylanes from 5 to 15, the hydrocarbon being C21 to C44, mostly C35, alkylbenzenes from 2 to 3.5, hexacyclanes from 2.5 to 4.5, tetracyclanes from 0.5 to 2.5, tricyclanes from 0.5 to 2.5 and bicyclanes - traces, the wax quantity being from 1 to 5 wt.pts.per 100 wt.pts rubber.
