USE OF IL-4 TO ENHANCE IMMUNE RESPONSE TO IMMUNOGENS IN VACCINES

A use of IL-4 for the manufacture of a medicament, a pharmaceutical composition comprising IL-4 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a method for enhancing a primary immune response of a mammal to immunogens present in a vaccine, e.g., the tetanus toxoid vaccine in mammals by administering to such mammals an effective amount of IL-4, preferably recombinant human or E. coli-derived IL-4 in association with said vaccine are disclosed.
