The invention relates to the recovery of a hydrogen gold smelter which contains a precious metal of carbide impregnated stripping material in the precious metal ore. Precious metals are extracted from ores by leaching or filtering out solutions containing cyanide. However, it has been found that some gold ores do not respond well to the traditional leaching process because their impurities will interfere with the leaching process.
