A control logic for a vehicle brake system which is protected from blocking and is provided for off-road driving is proposed. In this case, the normal control logic for road driving is switched over by the driver by means of an off-road switch (13) to a special control logic for off-road driving. The special control logic is characterised in that it generates phases in which a brief blocking of the controlled wheels (12) is intentionally permitted. The blocking phases have a duration of approximately 240 ms.
