The method for sorting waste into different types includes containers (100,101) for separate types of waste which are redistributed at the sorting plant. A marking device (6) marks each of the containers as it passes, each identification mark being for a different type of waste. Each identified container transmits a signal to a recording and control device (7). This then transmits a signal to a separating device (9) for adjusting the position of the container. This moves the container to a place reserved for that type of waste.
