The heat pump (6) works in conjunction with a heat exchanger. The boiler chamber air flow is first passed to the heat pump and then divided into a part flow to a flue gas mixer and a part flow to the heat exchanger. The air in the chamber is cooled and partly mixed with flue gases for their cooling, and is partly cooled in the heat exchanger. The flue gas mixer (11) is connected directly to the heat exchanger (9), and a fan chamber is connected between the heat pump and the heat exchanger with a connection (10) to the mixer. A regulatable damper is provided in the connection. A dewatering device (12) is fitted in the mixer and is connected to a collection vessel (13).
