Improvements in iconic interface systems, for example, for the interactive analysis and control of programmes on a supercomputer from a remote work station

A work station T is described with iconic interfaces which arrange for the management and the control of a calculation server on a remote supercomputer S and a graphics server on a work station T. Functions activated by the pressing of a control button realise a widget tree, partly reconfigurable, which allows the user to activate remote procedures on the various servers T with interactions adequate to the function which one wishes to perform. These interfaces allow for interactive control, via display, of the data flow produced by the execution of a simulation program. (Figure 1) IMAGE
