摘要
By pressing a suitable button (transducer) and a control circuit with one finger, it is possible to command a compass using an actuator (motor), with control of two variables: the angle of the opening and the speed of movement. By using three buttons (assembled like a small keyboard, for example) for three fingers (middle, ring and little fingers), and once having acquired the dexterity needed, it is possible to command three actuators which activate: the thigh, leg and foot of a paraplegic. At present it is possible to stimulate muscles using electric impulses (see pacemaker), so that the system described above for mechanical actuators can be transferred to the muscles. In this way, using a mini-keyboard for three fingers, together with a control circuit and position sensors, and several circuits for muscle stimulation, it is possible to restore freedom of movement to paraplegics.
