In the case of an angled interrupter for encapsulated switching installations, having a drive device for the contact system (3, 4, 5) which carries high voltage, a drive lever (9) which is at earth potential is supported in a bulge (15) in the encapsulation (2) such that it can pivot and is connected in an articulated manner to an insulating material rod (12), in order to move the contact system. In order to reduce the space requirement for the drive lever, the latter has an integrally formed field electrode (14) which screens the remaining lever parts, which project out of the bulge when the contact system is in the switched-on state.
