Novel finely divided particulate calcium carbonatecompositions comprising mixtures of a preponderance of dry groundcalcium carbonate with a smaller amount of wet ground calciumcarbonate, each of these components having particular particlesize characteristics and particle size distributions, aredisclosed. When used as all or part of the filler inthermosetting and thermoplastic resinous compositions, e.g.,thermosetting polyester resinous molding compositions, paints andother finishes, sealants and the like, such mixtures providecompositions having high filler loadings coupled with acceptablylow viscosities and better processability than resinouscompositions containing all dry-ground fillers.
