Metal oxide catalysts having one or more metaloxides covalently or non-covalently bound to orentrapped on a solid phase support wherein the metaloxide catalyst is prepared by evaporation andcocondensation in a suitable organic solvent aredisclosed. Metal oxide catalysts are prepared byevaporation and cocondensation in a suitable organicsolvent and dispersed on a solid support as a highlydispersed thin surface film. A process for thepreparation of metal oxide catalysts prepared byevaporation and cocondensation is also disclosed.A process for the preparation of metal oxide catalystsprepared by evaporation and cocondensation of metaloxides in a suitable organic solvent and dispersed on asolid support as a high dispersed thin surface film isalso disclosed.
