This invention relates to a selective method ofproliferation of at least one of certain lymphocyticcellular subpopulations, particularly the CD4+, CD8+,and Natural Killer (NK) subpopulations, within a startingpopulation of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL). Arelatively small amount of a starting peripheral bloodlymphocytic cellular population is cultured in amulti-step process, beginning with an anti-CD3 antibodyimmobilized to a culturing substrate.
