METHOD OF PRODUCING WEAR RESISTANT ARTICLES HAVING SUPER HARD COAT AND ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM Articles such as cutting tools are coated with an intermediate layer, on the surface of a shaped core, of at least one chromium-carbon compound having a ratio of chromium to carbon within a specific range, followed by deposition of a diamond layer on the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer significantly improves adhesion of the diamond layer to the surface of the core.
