Work Train for Replacing Old Sleepers of a Track with New Sleepers

A work train (1) for replacing old sleepers (12) of atrack (5) with new sleepers (30) consists of a plurality ofloading wagons (3) for storing old and new sleepers (12,30),arranged one following another in the longitudinal directionof the train and designed for mobility on a track, a device(10) for pulling out old sleepers and a crane (18) designedfor mobility in the longitudinal direction of the train andhaving a sleeper gripper (19) for picking up and transportingthe sleepers. Provided at one end of the work train (1) is asleeper transporting device (32) with a sleeper gripper (36)which is vertically adjustable by means of drives (34) fordepositing the new sleepers (30) stored on the loading wagons(3) on the track (5).
