IMPROVED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE FOR CONTROL APPLICATIONS The system architecture includes a device control hoard which communicates with a universal motor drive control board via a serial master-slave communication link and with a system control via another communication system. The device control board is operative to receive the information for controlling the various motors from the system controller. The result is a highly flexible arrangement wherein the system blocks can be easily combined for most custom arrangements for control of mailing processes without costly development time and a necessity of maintaining a large inventory of custom boards.
