METALLIC FOAM-SUPPORT ELECTRODE PLATE FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL GENERATOR AND FABRICATION PROCESS OF THE SAME

The electrode plate comprises an active part, pasted with active material, and a plate head made up of three layers of compressed metallic foam: a part, of height G, not pasted, of the support (1) of the electrode plate and two strips of non-pasted metal foam (2, 3), of height R which surround the non-pasted portion of height G of the support (1) with a covering height h2 on the pasted portion of the support (1). The plate head has a narrowed thickness zone (4, 5, 8) comprising a maximum compressed part (5,8) and a transition part (4) between this maximum compressed part and the rest of the electrode of thickness e2. Part of this plate head forms a connection tail (5). The process for obtaining this consists in co-laminating the three layers of metallic foam of the plate head, then in cutting the plates, so as to obtain the connection tail (5).
