Bacteriorhodopsin components are used in optical recording mediums and a halographic reproduction to be obtained. The recording is prevented with the use of circular polarised light and the reconstruction is based upon the use of linear polarised light. The specific components used in the holographic reconstruction is dependent upon the polarisation. The recording input used two opposite direction circular polarised beams. The active components of the medium are of different forms.
