The twin-shell socket structure, for a hip replacement prosthesis, has a screwed threaded plug (10) at the outer shell (5), inserted from the inner side into the threaded drilling (8) used to take a setting tool. The plug (10) closes the drilling (8) against the bone bed (4). The inner shell (6) is of a plastic such as polyethylene.
