The producing method of a trimanganese tetroxide (Mn3O4) for a magnetic material is characterized by (a) dispersing an electrolytic metal manganese powder into the water to obtain a suspension, (b) heating the suspension at 80-120 deg.C. (c) adding a liquid ammonia to it, and regulating a reacted solution to be pH 8-10.5, and (d) reacting the reacted solution with an oxidizing agent i.e. oxygen, oxygen-contg. gas or hydrogen peroxide, and recovering the produced trimanganese tetroxide.
