FIELD: transport machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of acting upon a model of a transport vehicle, mounted in a wind tunnel, by an approach stream; measuring and registering pressure values in draining openings of the model in order to determine according to well known functions aerodynamic characteristics of the model; applying a baroindicating coating on the model before acting upon it by the approach stream; registrating change of color index of the baroindicating coating at process of acting upon the model by the approach stream; according to the change of color index determining functions of pressure change and node points (discontinuity points, extremes and so on). then at the same mode of the approach stream action measuring pressure values in draining openings, corresponding to the node points, and while taking into account these changes correlating relations of pressure changes on a surface of the model, detected with use of the baroindicating coating. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency at predetermined accuracy degree upon determining of distributed characteristics of aerodynamics due to lowered service consumption for designing, making and testing of the model. 1 cl, 6 dwg
