FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: active laser medium presents monocrystal of lithium fluoride containing FF2 colour center. Concentration of FF2 colour centers in medium in units of factor of optical absorption equals 100-700 cm-1. For production of laser medium crysrals of lithium fluoride are irradiated with electron pulses. Electron energy is established from 0.08 to 0.7 MeV. Absorbed dose in this case corresponds to 0.7107 Gy to 5.0107 Gy. Proposed medium exhibits high concentration of FF2 centers and low losses which increases service life, of laser element and gives possibility to create miniature elements. EFFECT: reduced pumping threshold and increased optical stability of color centers. 2 cl, 2 dwg
