The dental technician's workbench has a number of electrical base units, including a working light. The base unit (4) has a side face (4a) facing the direction (L) with an electrical socket (5) connecting to module units (6). Each module unit in turn has a corresponding side face (4b) with a further electrical socket (5). A communications interface connector (5') may also be incorporated. In addition a fluid connector (5'') may be used.
