Known systems which are made up of stereometric building blocks and are defined without separate coupling are usually multi-structural (for example the "stud/hole connections") and often permit only vertical extensions. Requirement 1. gives rise to the problem 9. of the sealed attachment of structural elements on concave-orthogonal surfaces and of the sealed insertion of structural elements into concave-orthogonal interspaces of the same sise. Requirements 1. and 3. give rise to the problem 10. of orthogonal countersinking of the local depth profiles into the overall surface profile of the mating building blocks at the potential extensions. The building-block system represented here takes as departure point a "self-complementary coupling profile" which fulfils the abovementioned properties 1-8.
